HEAD OF EDUCATION: MIKE WATERWORTH

Having previously taught at Bury College, Mike joined The Football College in 2012 as Head of Education. With his unique insight having undertaken the same College programme as a youngster that he now overseas as a teacher, Mike is well placed to guide and advise our player/students on their journey through Further Education, and into Higher Education if that is their aim, via the The Football University.

OFFICE AND MEDIA MANAGER: LYDIA WEST

Lydia joined our team at The Football College in March 2014 from Ashcotts Solicitors where she had excelled in the areas of Business Administration and office procedures. Supporting the teaching staff with admin support and coordinating open days Lydia is an important part of the team as well as acting as front of house at the Education Campus within the Football Stadium. Lydia also oversees all branding and media via all twitter feeds as well as FCTV.

HEAD OF FOOTBALL: KYLE HALL

Kyle joined The Football College in 2017 as Head of Football. Having previously spent the last 5 years coaching in the U.S in various roles such as Technical Director & Director of Coaching he has gained valuable experiences through working with different age groups and abilities. He also spent his last year in the states as the Assistant Coach at Suffolk University Mens Soccer (D3).

IAN COLDWELL: ACL (ASSISTANT CURRICULUM LEADER)

Ian is based at The Football College in his capacity of Assistant Curriculum Leader with our partner Virtual Learning UK (VLUK). This sees Ian oversee The Football College link with our EFP and funding source focusing on the quality of provision and ensuring every student is given the opportunity to achieve their maximum target grade. Ian is a very experienced tutor and has progressed up the career ladder within VLUK to the role of ACL, and we at The Football College are delighted that he has chosen to base himself at TFC.

TUTOR/COACH: LANCE JONES

Lance operates as The Football College (Manchester Campus) Lead Tutor; he achieved a BA Hons Degree P.E, Sport & Dance 2008-2012 Liverpool John Moores University, whilst also playing a good standard of semi-pro football for clubs such as Trafford FC. Lance is also a qualified FA Coach, Personal trainer & Gym instructor.After spending time within the high school setting as a PE teacher at Poynton High School & Blessed Thomas Holford High School, Lance chose to challenge himself and take a lead role within FE education in its early stages as the mix of high educational standards coupled with the football participation to match Lance’s skill set.

TUTOR: MATTHEW GRAHAM

As a graduate from Liverpool John Moore’s University, Matt studied his undergraduate and PGCE in Physical Education. He then went on to working with Manchester United Soccer Schools where he worked around the world delivering their programme. Matt started at Carlisle Untied working for their Community Scheme and Academy. Previous coaching experience with Gretna FC, LJMU Men’s, Mossley Hill Women’s.

TUTOR/COACH: CHRIS HIRST

Chris went to Leeds University where he studied Sports Development and Physical Education. Once he graduated from there he studied at Staffordshire University where he gained a PGCE qualification. He has been a teacher for three years and leads on the BTEC Level 2 programme. He was a professional at Macclesfield Town until he was 19 and when his contract expired he started his coaching qualifications.

PAUL OLDHAM: PERSONAL TRAINER

Paul has a unique multi-sport background in elite sports performance management and development. He is a multiple business owner and has the following company’s Body Influence, Football Performance Coaching (FPC) and Fitness Professional Mentoring (FPM). Paul has worked as a football coach, fitness coach/business mentor and is an NLP practitioner, therefore able to understand all aspects of elite performance and its underpinning principles. Paul has also worked with a number of professional football players through strength and conditioning. Most recently he has been a guest speaker at events on mindset and sports psychology.
